Sequential Bayesian Optimisation for Spatial-Temporal Monitoring

Determine a non-myopic solution to the sequential decision making problem of monitoring and optimising a space and time dependent function using a moving sensor. Contributions: Sequential Bayesian Optimisation (SBO) Formulate SBO as a Partially Observed Markov Decision Process (POMDP). Find non-mypic solution for the POMDP analog of SBO using MonteCarlo Tree Search (MCTS) and Upper Confidence B...

Spatial Representation: Maps in a Temporal Void

It has been suggested that the matrix-like firing structure of entorhinal grid cells is caused by interference between membrane oscillations at slightly different theta frequencies. A recent report suggests that grid signals can be generated in the absence of theta oscillations.

Temporal and Spatial Denoising of Depth Maps

This work presents a procedure for refining depth maps acquired using RGB-D (depth) cameras. With numerous new structured-light RGB-D cameras, acquiring high-resolution depth maps has become easy. However, there are problems such as undesired occlusion, inaccurate depth values, and temporal variation of pixel values when using these cameras. In this paper, a proposed method based on an exemplar...

A neural network for temporal sequential information

We report a neural network model that is capable of learning arbitrary input sequences quickly and online. It is also capable of completing a sequence upon cueing from any point in the sequence and in the presence of background noise. The architecture of the neural network utilizes sigmoid-pulse generating spiking neurons together with a Hebbian learning rule with synaptic noise.

Temporal Maps and Temporal Geographical Information Systems (Review of Research)

The need to record the history of and the ability to reason about changes in the world has lead to a new field of research within the community of Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Recently a lot of new theory and concepts have emerged and a number of spatiotemporal data models have been presented. In this review we will have a closer look at the most important issues such as bitemporalit...
